My last post was published March 25, 2015, and was written only to remark how my post previous to that was over a year old. I would say this blog is a dead parrot. It has ceased to be.
But perhaps it is just pining for the fjords.
There has been a lot I have wanted to write about but the internet seem so saturated with voices I find it hard to find mine. Plus my cat Penny is lying on my right hand as I type, so that makes it a little harder.
Speaking of my right hand, I recently broke my middle finger. I would be great if I could tell people I broke it punching Nazis, but really I just smooshed it between two very heavy, laminated, MCM style work tables. Here’s the X-ray.
It is broken vertically, which the hand specialist says is very unusual – he had never seen a case quite like it. I don’t know if that is really true, or if he is just trying to dull the pain of the costs associated with this injury. I checked my EOB the other day and was charged $105 for a frog shaped finger split that was so uncomfortable, I tossed it in the trash and resumed using the full splint provided by the ER. Really, should have framed it and hung it on the wall. Or stuck it in the fire safe.
BUT, as I type, I still have health insurance, so hopefully I won’t be seeing a bill for garbage. Fingers crossed. On my left hand.
